Dean of Students 

Mental Health Concerns.   Resources for if you or someone you know are struggling with mental health concerns.

On campus:  We have two on campus mental health centers.

The Counseling Center is located in Lester Hall and provides free counseling services to students who are seeking a degree at the University
of Mississippi.

Psychological Services Center is located in Kinard Hall and provides psychological services (therapy and assessments) to anyone in the community.
Services are provided on a sliding scale.

Writing Center: Free writing consultations are available to you through the Writing Center in person or online; please take advantage of this excellent resource to help you perform the best you can on writing assignments.

If your GPA is below a 2.0: Please see this website if your cumulative GPA is below a 2.0 or you want to learn mo re information about how academic probation, suspension, dismissal, and readmission work.

Freshman forgiveness policy:  If you have earned a C- or lower in a class and are interested in re-taking that class to improve your grade (or have already done so), please visit this website for information on the rules and regulations related to that and how to request a freshman forgiveness. One important thing to note is that you are allowed to do this for up to 12 credit hours during your time at the University so we always advise students to use these forgivenesses carefully.

Advice for how to study effectively: The videos provided by Dr. Stephen Chew of Samford University at this website are excellent resources to help you learn effective study methods.

The A Game by Dr. Ken Sufka is an excellent resource that guides you through how to succeed in school.
