Psi Chi: The Psychology National Honors Society
Psi Chi is an organization made up of Students of Psychology. Its purpose is to promote and recognize excellence in the field of Psychology. Visit the Psi Chi website to learn about its purpose, history, activities, and locations throughout the country.
Membership: In order to qualify for membership students must have completed 3 semesters of college, and 9 hours of psychology courses. Students must rank in the upper 35% of their class. This may result in an overall GPA of 3.0 (or higher, depending on the 35% cutoff for individual classes). Students must also have a 3.0 GPA in psychology classes. The University of Mississippi Psi Chi Chapter meets once a month. There is a $65 fee to join the University of Mississippi Chapter, which includes the lifetime Psi Chi membership and UM chapter fees. Psi Chi provides preparation for graduate school and connects studies to local resources, such as volunteer opportunities in the community, research activities, and departmental events.
