Dr. Laura Dixon awarded research funding by Misophonia Research Fund

The Misophonia Research Fund (Initiative of the Ream Foundation) awarded funding to Dr. Laura Dixon’s research proposal entitled “Advancing the Characterization and Assessment of Misophonia through Laboratory and Population-based Research”. Misophonia is a recently acknowledged clinical phenomena describing strong negative reactions to particular sounds (e.g., chewing, pen clicking), and for some individuals, this experience results in severe distress and impairment. This project aims to increase awareness and recognition of misophonia by investigating the unique features of this condition.
