Congratulations to Dr. Todd Smitherman and Dr. John Young on their recent promotions to Full Professor in the Department of Psychology.
Dr. Todd Smitherman joined the psychology faculty in 2008. He is the Director of Clinical Training and directs the Migraine and Behavioral Health Lab. His research focuses on understanding the role of psychological factors in chronic medical conditions and physical health. In 2018, Dr. Smitherman was awarded the College of Liberal Arts Award for Research, Scholarship and Creative Achievement.
Dr. John Young joined the psychology faculty in 2008. He directs the Scientific Infusion That Helps Research Lab (SITH Lab). His research focuses broadly on evidence based services for children and adolescents. In 2019, Dr. Young was awarded the Elsie M. Hood Teacher of the Year Award.
